Gait Analysis and Walk Tracking

Traditional gait analysis uses a set of cameras and date server processing, which adapts optical motion analysis. Normally, 8 cameras installed on the wall will track the reflective markers equipped on human body. The whole caption process needs to ensure the markers stay in the visual scope of the camera. The recorded positions of the reflective markers will be used to compute and deduct the 3D motion analysis. This capital motion analysis system costs huge with high-speed camera and large space. The light is also an effective factor to the capital motion analysis system. The kinetic parameters for gait analysis are obtained indirectly, especially for some key parameters (e.g. accelerated speed, angle, etc), which are very important to gait analysis system.

Based on a study of biomechanics, with modern inertial sensor technology and kinematics parameter measurement, we can make a comparison study of human walking and get the related parameters, e.g. stride frequency, stride, leg speed, step length, step width, support phase, swing phase, speed, angle, internal/external rotation, Adduction/ Abduction, etc.

The inertial gait analysis system is safe, noninvasive and reliable with high accuracy.
